When Joy Becomes an Act of Humanity…

In a visit filled with warmth and happiness, the Social Services Hospital (Dar Al-Ajaza) welcomed a delegation from “Sawa Mninjah Association”, headed by Mrs. Dayana Darnika, and “Bayt Al-Adab wal-Oloum” (House of Literature and Sciences), headed by Mr. Mohammad Dib, accompanied by a group of young women volunteering in humanitarian work.

The visit aimed to connect with the female patients in the Women’s section of the Hospital’s Psychiatric Department. This initiative brought together recreation and the promotion of humanitarian values among the participating young women, while strengthening bonds across different segments and generations of society.

The visitors spent time chatting with the Hospital’s patients and the nursing team. They shared dances to the sound of music, enjoyed sweets and juices together, and presented the women with a symbolic gift: a collection of bracelets handmade by the volunteers. The gathering unfolded in a friendly, joyful atmosphere that brought smiles to faces and filled the section with positive energy.

At the end of the visit, the delegation met with the Hospital’s General Manager, Eng. Ziad Malak, who thanked them for their thoughtful initiative. He emphasized the importance of humanitarian work and meaningful engagement with this valued segment of society, highlighting the positive impact such visits have on patients’ well-being and their essential role in the care and recovery journey, particularly in mental health.

He also underscored a simple yet profound message: giving does not always mean what we offer; sometimes, it is simply our presence, our care, and a smile shared with someone who needs it.
